Unveiling the Hidden Gems: The Qur’an – A Powerful Self-Help Guide for Personal Growth and Timeless Values
My statement above is precisely why the Qur’an and Prophetic teachings are the values focus of my book, Transformed by Values! The Qur’an is the greatest life-guide book that will lead you to success in both this temporary world and the next permanent, eternal life. It contains the highest standards of human values, excellence, and personal growth.
We are eternal spiritual beings travelling through our temporary human life. Our Islamic purpose in this short life, is to grow in all our dimensions, body, spirit, and mind, by embodying true spiritual, divine, Islamic values. Our mind, body and spirit are a trust from God, the Exalted. You and I are 100% responsible for growing and improving ourselves, so our purpose in life is honoured and achieved.
When we live by divine, spiritual Islamic values, they have an effect beyond just what you see around you – they help shape who YOU become over time and for eternity! When we constantly work on improving the way that we live our Islamic values, they will grow and expand in all aspects of life.
If you’re wondering whether these are simply universal values, the answer is no. Read on…
The roots of Islamic values come from Allah’s (God’s) qualities and attributes
We exist because Allah (swt), our Maker, gave us life. God’s beautiful values and qualities manifest throughout the world. Every magnificence of creation, from the stars to the solar system, human body, oceans of wonder, natural landscapes, flowers, trees and more that we witness daily in our life point to His existence and divine purpose for creating us. Every moment of our existence is graced with the opportunity to experience and live the Divine values (qualities and attributes) of Allah, The Most Glorious.
These Islamic values exist within you, but of course within a limit and are the crucial keys to fulfil your highest human purpose. No doubt, His (SWT) qualities cannot be compared to the minute traces we witness within and around us, nor is there anything comparable to Him. The ability to polish your ability and motivating yourself to practice, grow and live with qualities of love, generosity, peace, joy, patience, faith, etc., all originate from Allah, The Most Glorious’ infinite qualities.
I encourage you to learn Allah’s (SWT) 99 Names (values/qualities), so that these names become the key inspiration to shape your values. My book, Transformed by Values, supports you towards this aim by facilitating your ongoing Islamic and personal growth and strengthening your ability to live according to the many Divine qualities of God, the Exalted, insha’Allah.
Here are some of my favourite examples of key Islamic values to strive to live by:
